Here is a fantastic opportunity for a Foreman Carpenter to lead a team of carpenters on site, and coordinate day to day construction activity to meet the deadlines and construction quality. In this role, you’ll be working on some exciting developments and significant projects – both new residential and commercial builds in Silverdale on the North Shore.

The role:

In this role, you’ll be on the tools as well as managing the team, so key tasks include:

• Day to day management of a carpentry team of 8 – 10 people
• Ensure that workmanship is of a high standard and regulatory requirements are met
• Ensure that the project remains on track to meet deadlines
• Deal with, manage and escalate issues or problems as they arise
• Manage the H&S site requirements

The ideal candidate:

• Previous experience as leading hand – perhaps for a smaller team
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand construction codes and requirements
• Strong New Zealand construction experience in residential and commercial sectors
• Experience in managing staff and sub-contractors
• Strong problem solving ability
• Eager to progress and further develop career in the construction industry
