In this role you will be monitoring production and machinery to ensure that production deadlines/outcomes are met. You will also be required to collect and record production food safety data, so numeracy and literacy skills are essential.

You will be involved in start-up, shut-down and cleaning of the area and machinery. As you will be operating machinery, a degree of mechanical aptitude would be an advantage and a forklift licence is preferred but not essential.

A strong focus on Health and Safety and Quality is extremely important in this role. To be considered for this position you will need to be physically fit and healthy and capable of lifting 20-30kg.

You will be required to participate in all relevant training and experienced operators will be involved in training other staff.

Our client is looking for someone with a solid work ethic and a great attitude. The person we seek will be highly reliable, with good attendance and excellent timekeeping. We are looking for a candidate who fits in easily within a factory team environment.


Key responsibilities:

  • Operate/monitor machinery for food processing and monitor production
  • Manage simple mechanical issues to ensure that production deadlines are met
  • Start-up, shut-down and cleaning
  • Health and Safety and Quality – works to organisational policy and procedure
  • Some heavy manual lifting (20-30kg) and operate forklift (training provided)
  • Complete documentation e.g. production logs and food safety data
  • Participate and assist with training and quality improvement

The ideal candidate:

  • Is  experienced in factory production operations (food industry is desirable)
  • Has some mechanical aptitude is technically minded
  • Brings a solid understanding of Health and Safety and Quality – adheres to and understands organisational policy and industry regulations
  • Has excellent communication and facilitation skills - is capable of  imparting knowledge to others
  • Is strong on record keeping, completes logs etc. accurately
  • Capable of heavy manual lifting - forklift license is desirable
  • Fits in easily into a factory team - gets on well with others
