Plumbing & Drainage Estimator

We're seeking an experienced Plumbing & Drainage Estimator or a Plumber / Drainlayer looking to take their career to the next level, to join our client's busy and successful team in Dunedin.

About the Role

As the Plumbing & Drainage Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for predominantly commercial plumbing and drainage projects. Working from detailed plans and specifications, you'll play a key role in securing new work and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial plumbing and drainage projects.
• Analyse drawings, plans, and specifications to determine project scope and costs.
• Respond to Requests for Tender (RFTs) within required timeframes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, consultants, and main contractors.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend client and pre-tender meetings.
• Conduct site visits as required to assess project requirements and monitor progress.
• Assist with contract administration and project handovers.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• At least 2 years' experience estimating commercial and/or civil plumbing and drainage projects.
• A new Zealand qualification in plumbing and drainage (preferred)
• Proven ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using estimating software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand plumbing and drainage practices and industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
